Please Take a Minute to Read About Our Summer Updates!
Can you believe it? We're already halfway through the year — time for a check-in! How are you doing?

I'm feeling grateful, excited, and full of curiosity for what the second half of the year holds for CoreStrong!

You've probably spotted some new names on the schedule. This month we're thrilled to welcome Alex D. and Brighten Smith as new instructors!
Picture

Alex D. completed her Lagree certification in March and has been practicing diligently ever since. You'll quickly discover she's quite the athlete, a devoted cat lover, and completely hooked on Lagree! Come say hi and try her Essentials class on Wednesdays at 10:55 and Noon — a little encouragement goes a long way for a brand-new instructor.

Brighten is the sweetest fireball you'll ever meet! Get ready for some serious shaking during class (and some very rewarding soreness the next day). She comes to us with over a year of teaching experience, and she truly knows how to build an effective routine. Catch Brighten on Fridays at 10:40, 12:00, and 1:05 and on Sundays at 11:30 and 12:35 — let's help her feel right at home!

Goodbye Journey Wall, Hello Mirrors!
For several years, our Journey Wall has been part of the backdrop to every class, every rep, every personal best.  It's served us well, but it's time to say goodbye - we are giving that space a new purpose.

We'll be installing a full wall of mirrors.  Seeing your alignment in real time makes a real difference in a Lagree workout, and we're excited to bring that to the studio.

To make it happen, the studio will be closed on July 22 and 23 while we build out the wall.  If all goes as planned, the mirrors will go in during that same window.

We know closures are never convenient, so every membership client will receive 2 additional class credits on their account.  Use them to bring a guest or add an extra climb class to your Lagree booking - our thanks for your patience while we get this upgrade done.

See you on the other side of the mirror!

Consistency is the Magic Word - A Bit of Cathy Wisdom
I want you to know that you haven't missed your window!  If you've ever started a diet on Monday and abandoned it by Wednesday — if you've ever looked in the mirror and quietly decided you're just out of options — I need you to know something: I was you.

I didn't exercise with any real consistency until my 40s. I was 50 pounds overweight, out of shape, and I had genuinely convinced myself there was nothing to be done about it. So if that's where you are right now, I'm not writing this from some distance above you. I'm writing it from having been exactly there.

I was so intimidated with exercise, I had no idea where to start, so I decided to start with the least intimidating thing I could think of: Walking!  I started with 1 mile,  then I walked it again the next day, and the next. Before long, one mile had quietly turned into nine. Somewhere in there, a switch flipped. I wasn't just surviving my own life anymore; I was curious about what my body could actually do.

That's the part I most want other people to hear. You don't need a dramatic starting line. You just need one small, repeatable thing — and the willingness to do it again tomorrow.

Eventually, that curiosity put me in front of two things that reshaped not just my body, but how I think about aging entirely: the Lagree Method and the VersaClimber. I want to talk about them not because they're mine, but because I think they belong to anyone who's ever worried that getting older means slowing down, breaking down, or watching the door quietly close on what their body can do.

I didn't understand at 40 and wish someone had told me: growing older doesn't have to be scary. Not when you have the right tools and the willingness to show up.

The Lagree Method: Strength Without the Beating

What makes Lagree different — and why I think it matters so much for anyone worried about aging — is that it builds real strength without ever pounding your joints. It's slow, controlled, high-tension movement: muscle endurance, core stability, and total-body sculpting in just 45 minutes, with no jumping and no impact. For anyone who's ever thought "my knees can't take that anymore" or "I'm too old to start lifting," Lagree is proof that you can build serious strength at any age, on joints that have already lived a full life. That's exactly why I brought it to Boise and started CoreStrong in October 2017 — I wanted a whole city of people who felt the way I used to feel to find out what their bodies were still capable of.

The VersaClimber: Cardio That Builds Confidence

If Lagree rebuilds strength, the VersaClimber builds the engine — and it does it in a way that took away one of my biggest fears about getting older: losing my stamina, my heart health, my wind.

It's a full-body, weight-bearing cardio workout that has you climbing with your arms and legs, burning calories while protecting your joints. But what surprised me most was what it did for my mind. Ten minutes on the Versa tests your resilience fast, and every time you finish a climb, you're reminded that discomfort is temporary and capability is earned. For anyone who associates "getting older" with getting weaker or more fragile, the VersaClimber is a pretty direct rebuttal — cardiovascular strength, full-body engagement, and mental toughness, all built session by session.

Together, Lagree and the VersaClimber cover what I think everyone deserves as they age: power, endurance, heart health, and resilience, delivered in a way that respects your body instead of wearing it down.

Aging Isn't the Threat You Think It Is

I'm 65 now, and I'm in the best shape of my life — not "for my age," just period. But I'm not telling you that to talk about myself. I'm telling you because I think too many people quietly assume that getting older is something that happens to them, rather than something they get to shape.

It doesn't have to be scary. It doesn't have to mean decline. With the right kind of movement, aging can mean getting stronger, feeling steadier on your feet, sleeping better, thinking clearer, and having more energy at 65 than you did at 45. That's not a slogan — it's what consistency, paired with the right tools, actually does to a body over time.

That's the whole reason CoreStrong exists: I've seen this transformation up close, in myself and in the people who've walked through our doors feeling exactly the way I used to. My mission is simple — help other people discover the magic of consistency, and the tools that make it worth showing up for. Growing older doesn't have to be something you brace for. It can be something you look forward to.

I can't wait to see you in class soon and I hope you'll share a bit about your journey with me!

Cathy

A New Starting Place at Corestrong!
If the above article resonated with you, then this new class format is for you!

Intro to Lagree

Level: True Beginner — no experience required
Intro to Lagree is your entry point into the Lagree Method. Designed specifically for first-timers, this class slows things down so you can build a real foundation before moving into our regular class lineup.

You'll get an introduction to the Megaformer, its springs, cables, carriage and platforms, and learn how it works. We'll walk through the core principles of the Lagree Method and the foundational movement patterns you'll see across every class. Extra time is spent on the details that matter most early on: form, alignment, tempo, and range of motion, so you leave with the confidence and technique to progress safely into faster-paced, higher-intensity sessions.

Join us on Mondays at 10:40 - Starting August 3rd

It May Be a Touchy Subject, But We Really Should Talk About It!
We truly value our community and the experience you have with us at CoreStrong Studio. That's exactly why we want to be upfront with you about something that's been on our minds.

So far in the first six months of 2026, we've had 1,948 late cancels and 181 no-shows. That's 2,129 spots that potentially went unused.

We get it, life happens. Schedules shift, kids get sick, work runs late. We're not here to guilt anyone for the occasional curveball. But here's the thing: with only 14 Megaformers or Versa Climbers available per class, every single reservation matters. When a cancellation happens at the last minute, or when someone simply doesn't show, that spot often can't be filled by another member who was hoping to get into class.

As our community keeps growing, so does the need for a little extra accountability around booking and attendance. It's a small thing that makes a big difference: it means more of you get into the classes you want, waitlists move faster, and our instructors can plan for the room that actually shows up.

So here's our ask: if your plans change, please cancel your booking as soon as you can. Canceling early opens your spot for someone on the waitlist and helps us keep the class experience great for everyone.

And here's a silver lining worth knowing: a portion of the fees from late cancels and no-shows goes right back into our instructors, funding additional training and certifications. So even when a spot goes unused, it's still helping us invest in the quality of coaching you get every time you're on the machine.

We're also putting a portion of these fees to work in our community. Each month, we'll be donating to a rotating group of local charities: Rise Services, Inc., a nonprofit supporting children, adults, and families with developmental disabilities through recreational services, employment services, family support, early intervention, and more; Morgan Children's Fund, which helps local children access mental health counseling, youth sports, and community activities that they might not otherwise be able to afford, removing barriers to mental wellness and healthy childhood development; and the Women's and Children's Alliance, which has served the Treasure Valley for more than a century, providing shelter, counseling, advocacy, crisis intervention, and support services for individuals and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.

Thank you for being part of our CoreStrong Community and for helping us to keep it running smoothly for everyone.

See you in class!
